ON THIS DAY...4/15

THE STUDENT NONVIOLENT COORDINATING COMMITTEE (SNCC) WAS FOUNDED IN 1960.

SNCC, PRONOUNCED (SNICK) WAS CREATED AS A RESULT OF A STUDENT MEETING ORGANIZED BY ELLA BAKER, HELD AT SHAW UNIVERSITY IN NORTH CAROLINA. SHAW UNIVERSITY IS THE OLDEST HISTORIC BLACK COLLEGE (HBCU) IN THE SOUTHERN UNITED STATES.  SNCC WAS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ORGANIZATIONS OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT.

BUT DON'T TAKE MY WORDS FOR IT! GO FIND YOUR OWN . (GOOGLE IT.)
