Today marks the one-year anniversary of Mike Brown's tragic death at the hands of Darren Wilson. We join together with our brothers and sisters across the country in mourning his loss and continuing to call for justice in his case. Mike Brown's death and the protests in Ferguson Missouri that grew out of it have come to represent a transformative moment in the history of our racial justice movement -- a moment that has touched all of us. So, as we commemorate Mike Brown this weekend, let us also recall and uplift the many Black women who have also lost their lives to police violence. Let’s rally around Michelle Cusseaux, for example, who Phoenix police fatally shot as she stood unarmed in her own home last year, just days after Mike Brown's death.
When we say that #BlackLivesMatter, let's also #SayHerName. When we protest in the names of Mike Brown, Eric Garner, Freddie Gray and Tamir Rice, let's also uplift Sandra Bland, Natasha McKenna, Mya Hall, Shelly Frey, Rekia Boyd and so many more. Let's all #SayHerName and commit to an inclusive racial justice movement.

It serves as an information clearinghouse that works to bridge the gap between scholarly research and public debates on questions of inequality, discrimination and injustice.
